An interesting blend of beach living and tourists visiting, Cardiff-by-the-Sea is a charmingly, casual small village within the City of Encinitas in north San Diego County. There is that small town feeling and community pride in Cardiff-by-the-Sea ("Cardiff") that promotes it's "walkability". with the San Elijo State Beach, Swami’s Beach, surfing in front of the State Park that has stairs to the beach and lagoon, and all that the small community has to offer in the way of great restaurants, coffee and a bit of shopping.
