     Carmel Valley is a community of San Diego and is sometimes called "East Del Mar" to capitalize on the proximity to coastal Del Mar.  It is a vibrant community with great schools, amenities and close to the beach.  There is a local community planning board that assists the city of San Diego in development and land use.  Many people say Carmel Valley and mean the surrounding small neighborhoods such as Torrey Hills, Carmel Del Mar and others.   Below are informational links about this great community.
