Solana Beach is located on the northern coast of San Diego County and takes great pride in its two mile pristine coastline, majestic bluffs, secluded coves, white sandy beaches, and surf. Incorporated as a city in 1986, Solana Beach is home to approximately 14,000 residents.

This charming seaside community features a unique blend of businesses including light industrial; commercial services, neighborhood shopping centers with retail chain stores, boutiques, coffeehouses and restaurants. For those who enjoy antiques and design items, South Cedros Avenue, also known as Cedros Design District, is a true end-destination design district.

There are studios of award winning designers, art galleries, furniture emporiums and stores selling antiques, unique furniture, custom clothing, handcrafted items and jewelry. Solana Beach is an entrepreneurs dream. Many residents are engaged in proprietorships, management, professions or stunning occupations. The city is also known for its great restaurants on South Cedros on the Highway 101 corridor and on Lomas Santa Fe Drive.

Mexican food lovers throng to Eden Gardens, a small community within Solana Beach, for its authentic Mexican restaurants and its gracious hospitality. 

Solana Beach real estate starts at the ocean front bluff which ranges from stunning single-family estates to quaint beach cottages, some investment properties and large security gated condominium complexes with direct beach access. Working east from the bluff you will first find the older Solana Beach neighborhoods with good-sized lots (average 1/3 acre), many with dynamic ocean views.

The most eastern areas are newer and are adjacent to Del Mar and Rancho Santa Fe, some of which feature estate sized lots. Prices for Solana Beach condominiums currently range from the high $200,000's to over $1 million. Solana Beach Single family homes start in the $500,000's. Solana Beach is a tight knit community with its own personality.

In Spanish, Solana means "sunny," and this city lives up to its name. Solana Beach is warm and sunny throughout most of the year, with temperatures that average 62 degrees in the wintertime and 77 degrees in the summertime. The community is bounded on the west by the Pacific Ocean, on the north by San Elijo Lagoon and the city of Encinitas, on the south by Del Mar and the eastern boundary is the exclusive Rancho Santa Fe.

Major access routes to and through the city include Interstate 5, Highway 101 (Pacific Coast Highway), Lomas Santa Fe Drive and Via De La Valle. 

Solana Beach families are served by the Solana Beach School District for children in grades K-6, plus Earl Warren Junior High. Torrey Pines High School serves the upper grades and has been selected as one of the most outstanding high schools in the country.

These districts have received state and national awards for educational excellence, including California Distinguished School and National Blue Ribbon School status. At all levels, Solana Beach schools consistently rate among the highest in the county and the state on California's Standardized Testing and Reporting (STAR) Program.
